Hi Jon,
On July 11, 2009, we had a large auction conducted by Jon W. Carr. About two hours into the sale, it started to rain and poured for almost four hours.
Jon and his workers kept going, the crowd hung around, and we were still able to have a successful auction despite the heavy rain. Due to his dedication, good advertising, and people who follow his auctions, we stayed "afloat" that day.

To anyone reading this note, I wholehearted recommend Colonel Jon Carr and his staff. Jon was honest, considerate, and professional from our first meeting to our last. His staff was the same. They showed up when promised, worked as promised and cleaned up as promised. Jon was quick to respond to us when we had a question and was always available to us during this process of auctioning our Estate.
Colonel Jon Carr came highly recommended by our Attorney, but being the skeptical one that I am, I did my own research. After checking around town, I found that indeed, he was well liked and respected by everyone in Brookville. Then I checked with several other Auctioneers to see how his fees stacked up against theirs. His fees were actually equal to or less than most! So, in my book, there was no choice but to go with this highly recommended Auctioneer.

I was pleased with our advertising, the number of people that attended, the great food wagon, your set up people, your tabulator, your clerks, your computer tabulation equipment, our payment check, and last but certainly not least, your energy, enthusiasm, and stamina before, after, and during the sale!

I am Mike Rolf from Cleveland Ohio and I was in attendance at the liquidation auction of the Colonel White School. I wanted to tell you that I have attended many industrial as well as school auctions all over the state of Ohio, and I have rarely seen any auction of that size and caliber handled as well and professional as that one. The auction crew that you have was the best I have ever seen. It was a very long day for everyone, but yet your firm maintained professionalism right to the end, as well as assisting in the grunt work of loading. I have never been to one of your auctions in the past, but thank you and your crew for a very delightful experience.

You took time to inventory the major items to be sold and prepared an excellent advertising sheet with highlighted headings and several pictures which created an interest. The web site had several hits.
You carefully explained the terms of the auction including commission, cost of labor and fees, rent of Port-A-John. The two men who helped Tuesday and Wednesday did an excellent job getting everything ready; you had kept in touch with me and with them to make sure everything would go on time and it did. After the auction, you provided a detailed listing showing receipts and costs incurred.
It was obvious you have a very loyal following.
I was able to downsize quickly so the reason for the auction was fulfilled.

What a great time Saturday October 29 was, at the Brookville School auction. It was fun to talk to old friends and former classmates, walk the halls and write your name on a chalkboard one last time,and of course buy a piece or two of B.H.S. history. I even got to walk the halls with my father Russell Rhoades, who graduated 31 years before me and hear his many stories about the school. I would also like to commend Auctioneer Jon W. Carr and his courteous staff for the very thorough way the auction was handled. Items were laid out so they could be viewed easily, and the men who had taken down the many items could answer any and all questions concerning them. I think Jon Carr and staff deserve a huge pat on the back. Most auctions (this was my first school auction), usually has 2-3 auctioneers taking turns "crying the sale", but Jon did this all by himself. This sale lasted almost 11 hours, I was there from start to finish, and I wouldn't have missed a single minute of it. What a great "once in a lifetime opportunity!"

Another especially nice thing my husband appreciated as executor of this estate was that you gave him a complete print-out of each item and sale price BEFORE we even went home. The print-out showed what fees were taken out and what the final total for the estate was left. That meant that we could immediately show the heirs of the estate what the totals were.
All the family members that attended the auction were highly complimentary about the way you conducted the auction. We would be pleased to highly recommend you anyone desiring a dedicated Auctioneer!!
